A Historic Baltimore Wedding at the Engineer’s Club

Madison and Ben’s love is such a beautiful tale of two cities. They were married in the spring of 2021 at the Engineer’s Club in historic Mt. Vernon Square. Both working in the healthcare field at Johns Hopkins, Baltimore had quickly become a meaningful place in their love story – where they grew together. After a 2020 postponement due to the pandemic, this wedding was a long-awaited celebration, with so much anticipation and joy surrounding them as they finally got ready to say their vows in front of those they love.

Being from New Orleans, Ben had decided to propose to Madison in his hometown, but what she didn’t know was her whole family had flown into the Crescent City to surprise her and celebrate them together. This milestone and so many others were reflected in the custom details throughout the day. You can find the Fleur-de-lis on the groom’s cufflinks and the drums of the 8-piece band; and the signature drinks were named after the bride and groom’s favorite restaurants in Baltimore, and The Big Easy.

Everywhere you turned there was a small symbol of significance that celebrated Madison and Ben’s beautiful story. It was such a privilege to watch each moment unfold in front of my lens – the happy tears, deep hugs, and dancing – lots of dancing!

The night ended with one of my favorite reception exits of all time: a traditional second line that overflowed into the streets. New Orleans holds a special place in my own heart, so hearing the saxophone echo in the square made it all feel full-circle. It was a celebration that will forever be one of my favorites!
